A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Dayanand Saraswati’.
Dayanand Saraswati was a famous Indian philosopher and ascetic. He was also a renowned social leader. He was also known as Maharshi Dayanand by the people.
Born as Mula Sankara in 1824, Gujarat, Dayanand Saraswati is famed for being the founder of the Arya Samaj (Society of Aryans). It was a notable reform movement of the Vedic dharma. He’d once said with regard to this, “Prayer in any form is efficacious because it is an action. It will, therefore, have a result. That is the law of this universe in which we find ourselves.”
Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s infamous slogan, in fact, is “Back to the Vedas”. He had the ideal goal of reconnecting society with its ancient roots- its traditions. He firmly believed that going back to the Vedas was the most effective course of action to achieve this.
I’d like to conclude my speech by quoting one of his inspiring quotes, “People should try to know God and imitate him in their works. Repetitions and ceremonials are of no use.”
Thank you.
