Republic Day is celebrated on the 26th of January every year in India. On this day, all institutions’ workplaces are declared a holiday. Some schools and some institutions consider this day as a holiday while some programs are held where teachers educate the students regarding this day and the reason for its celebration. Some institutions hold painting and essay competitions as well. The first celebration started in the year 1950. This year it would level up to being the 73rd celebration. On this day we give honour to all the soldiers and the people who sacrificed their lives for the nation. On this day, parades are held, the national flag is hoisted and sweets are distributed to the kids.
Republic day is an important day for the people in India. It reminds everyone of the gratitude that we all should have for the people who lost their lives for our nation. It is a day to remind all of us to live our nation, our people and to work with one another in peace and harmony.
