- On August 15, 2023 , India will celebrate its 77th Independence Day.
- To commemorate this historic occasion, the government of India has launched “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” a year-long celebration of India.
- The “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” began in Sabarmati Ashram.
- This celebration commenced 75 weeks prior to the Independence Day 2022 would continue up to 15th August 2023.
- It is celebrated to explain the importance of freedom to the young generation of the country.
- Various cultural programmes were organized on this day.
- Amrit Mahotsav is a tribute to our freedom fighters and the Indian freedom struggle.
- On this day students recreate the stories of the heroes whose sacrifices made our freedom a reality.
- This Mahotsav is an effort to make us understand the importance of selflessness and love for our nation.
