Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, a wonderful morning to all of you. Today on this special occasion, I would like to speak some words on the topic- Girl Child.
Female infanticide is the biggest danger to the girl child in India. The desire for a male child leads people, especially in underdeveloped rural areas, to kill the girl child at birth. The societal perception that girls are weak and a burden to the family is the chief cause of this evil.
Girls are capable of everything, and yet every opportunity is consistently taken away from them throughout their lives due to prejudices. But no society can progress without its women progressing, and therefore we must actively strive to save the girl child and educate her so that she gets the same opportunities as her male counterparts.
To conclude, we must do our best to protect the girl child and her future! Thank you for listening to me so attentively.
