Subject: Requesting for one day leave in school

Sir,

I am Deepika Sharma, a student of class 7th A. I write this application to request you to grant me a day leave. I will be unable to attend the school on October 18th as I am going to the village to visit my grandmother who is not keeping well for a week now.

I am very close to my Grandmother and I really wish to see her in this condition. I will surely attend school the next day.

Kindly excuse my absence for a day. I shall be highly obliged to you.
